Halloween for the Boys

This is the first year that we actually parked and went house to house down a street for trick or treating, usually we just go from family's house to house, my mom's, dad's, sisters, Fred and Connies etc... but this year we made to everyones plus actual trick or treating in a neighborhood. The boys did so good!

Here are the boys trick or treating at Aunt Christine's house

Here is Chase with his cool pumpkin, Thanks to Natalie Kate for the fun pirate pumpkin gift!

Daddy helped carve this for Mason, he wanted a scary pumpkin face since Daddy couldn't make it look like Buzz Lightyear.

Erick and I didn't plan to dress up for Halloween with the boys until last minute. This is Erick trying to see if he could pull of Chewbacca, we voted no!

And here is Chase acting silly with the black mullet wig...

We finally decided Erick could be Obi-Wan Kenobi and I was Princess Leia.

Here is the cutest little 2 feet tall Darth Vader that you have ever seen :)

And the cutest Jango Fett you've ever seen too, if you have ever even seen a Jango Fett before. This is Chase going into school for his Halloween party. When I left the room, I just kept hearing all of the kids in his class telling everyone to look how Awesome Chase's costume was. He was big stuff!

Amy and I always take the boys to Nana's work on Halloween so she can show the boys off to her friends at work. So here is Nana posing with all of her little dressed up grandsons!

And here are both boys together at Nana's office, with and without the mask :)

Halloween party

Erick and I went to a Halloween party on Saturday night without kids, it was very fun. We went to the same party last year as a mennonite couple. This year I was a witch and Erick waited until the last hour to decide what to be so he just went as white trash (not too much of a stretch :) Anyway, it was lots of fun, we went with our neighbors (we live in the country or else neighbors would be a stretch, they live a mile or so down the road) Melanie and Jeremy. It was fun to get out and dress silly and have fun as a couple. Here are some pics!

I have no idea who these people are, but their costumes were cool, so I took a picture with them... They made these costumes themselves.

Here are Melanie and Jeremy all dressed up.

Kurt and Shannon decided to go last minute and made this costume for Shannon to wear, it was awesome!

I've been tagged.....

I've been tagged by a few people, so here we go:
Here are the rules--
1) Each player starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
2) People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (about their eight things) and post these rules.
3) At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
4) Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog

1. I mall walk, drive a mini-van and LOVE to play Scrabble.
2. I haven't seen my natural hair color since the 8th grade, not really sure what color it even is.
3. I love to make myself a big bowl of cake or brownie batter and eat it with a big glass of milk before bed.
4. I am living in the dark ages of dial-up internet so I hope everyone that reads my blog really appreciates each and every post that takes me an hour to upload.
5. I am extremely cheap and never pay full price for anything.
6. I like to take pictures just a little bit.
7. I rarely ever go to bed before midnight, I can't even make myself.
8. I am crazy unorganized and basically a big huge slob.

Granddaddy's Shop

The boys love to walk to Granddaddy's shop. Once when Chase was 3, he was playing in the driveway and I ran inside to check on Mason and when I came out one minute later, he was half way across the field!! Since then, we have made many many trips over to Granddaddy's shop and back. We have taken friends for an adventure across the field, Skylar has been several times, Tucker has gone with us, and Jamison walked with us over there for a scavenger hunt one day. Yesterday we decided to walk over, just not through the field since there is wheat growing right now, we walked through the woods over to the path that goes behind the field. When we got there, Daddy was washing his "old timey" car, and when he got done we all got to go for a ride in it.

Here is the path going back home from Granddaddy's shop.

Daddy washing his Oldsmobile.

Here are the boys getting ready to go for a ride with Granddaddy, this is when I need a tripod for my camera phone :) so I can be in the picture too!! When we got in the car, Chase asked Granddaddy where the seatbelts were ;) He didn't understand why a car would not have seatbelts.

Just everyday stuff

I take pictures of my boys pretty much everyday, and lots of times I only put "significant" ones on here that have some story or a trip somwhere to share but I just thought I would post some of the normal everyday pictures. I take them, I might as well share them.....

Mason is going through his "underwear phase." That is all he wants to wear around the house. So most of the pictures I have these days consist of Chase fully dressed and Mason in his underwear, sorry!!
Here they are swinging this afternoon, the weather was great, Perfect swinging weather :)

Chase was "surfing" on the swingset and so I went to get my camera. Then he really stepped it up by trying to put one foot in the other swing but he almost fell so he decided to quit showing off.

Here are the boys posing with their "castle" we built in their play room. It is completely enclosed by the fence and you can't get in unless you know the secret password. By the way, the reason you don't see any doors on the castle is because there are only SECRET doors that you think are just the walls to the castle, but really there is a door on each side, the red "wall" in the middle comes out and is infact a secret door.

This was not my idea... I know there is nothing like the dorky mom taking pictures of her kids in the grocery store with her camera phone, but they were hugging each other just because they wanted to and liking it, and Mason said "Hey Mommy, you gotta take a picture of me and my brudder." What's a mom to do? I whipped out my camera phone and got this cute picture!! Who cares if people were staring?? :)

While Chase is in preschool, I always try to get my walk in, pushing one kid is easier than two!! I'll admit that when it is cold, I am at the mall walking like a big nerd, but while we are having this beautiful weather, I love to walk at the park! It is beautiful and peaceful and there is this great breeze, and I just love everything about it! It starts my day off so great! Here is another camera phone picture of Mason getting ready to feed the ducks after our walk.

These two pictures, Amy took over at Nana and Grandpa's house. I love this picture because it's all 4 cousins hanging out together on their grandparents farm, living the good life. And because there are 3 boys dressed appropriately for the weather and then there is Mason in his underwear!?!?!?! (I wasn't there so I can not be to blame :)

And I just love this picture that Amy took!! Apparently that day Carver started picking on Mason and he gets so frustrated with him, but tries his best to tolerate it because he knows Carver is just a baby... This is him clearly losing his cool, and it is a good thing Carver was standing where he was.... and that Mason's arm is as short as it is :)

Fall Fun

We have been having so much fun and staying so busy that I had not had time to put all of these pictures on my computer yet. A couple of weeks ago, a few friends and I took our children to Chaney's Dairy Barn for a farm tour. We got to eat ice cream, go on a wagon ride, watch them milk a cow, walk around and see the "baby cows", and have lunch. Mason loved every minute of it, and Chase loved every minute of it that he didn't have to smell the lovely cow smell. At one point, my friend Kim looked at me and said "Do you think Chase is going to throw up??" I looked over at him and he was gagging!! That was of course while we were in the barn getting ready to watch them milk a cow. He made it through okay and learned a lot.

I love taking the boys to things like this. Chase always amazes me at what he takes in and how he just understands basically every concept that has ever been explained to him. I remember people telling me when he was two how you could communicate with him just like an adult. Mason is the same way, a tad more rambunctious :) he can argue with me just like an adult!! He is 2, and if I discipline him, he will say "You're not being Berry nice to me, mommy. I don't like it when you talk to me like that!" I don't know where he gets this smart mouth :)

Last Wednesday Chase's preschool went to Jackson's Orchard. They got to go through a corn maze, take a tractor ride to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumkin, learn how they make apple cider, and just run around and play.

We love going to Jackson's Orchard so we went again this past Wednesday! Joey, Pam, Ashley, Trevor, Chelsea, the boys and I all went... along with Trevor's little brother who took the picture for us. We walked around and played in the hay castles, Chase led us through the corn maze, rode to the pumpkin patch, all the same stuff, it was a BEAUTIFUL fall day!!

"YOU WANNA PIECE OF MEAT???" That is what Mason replied to me when I told him that he had to the count of three to look at the camera and smile :)

Weird-O

On Saturday night the boys and I decided to run in and get McDonalds instead of making supper... healthy I know. Anyways, Erick was asleep in the recliner so I didn't even wake him to tell him that we were leaving. When we got home and walked in the door, this is what I saw!

I was like "What in the world????" I sat the boys down and got a tad bit scared but then I heard Erick say, "I'm okay." So, instead I ran and got my camera... He said he was sleeping and the chair just fell over and he couldn't get up so he just laid there and went back to sleep.
What a weird-o!
