Just another post

Last weekend all of my sisters were in town. Tina was in to help Steven move into his new apartment/house and Kathy came in well, just because she always comes in... and she wanted to see Tina. We had a lot of fun, like we always do, eating, playing games, eating, hanging out, and eating. I have more pictures of us playing corn hole and of Julie and Kathy riding home in the back of Erick's truck, but they are on my mom's camera, so I will have to add them later. Here is a picture of my Daddy with his 4 girls after church on Sunday.

All 3 of my sisters have a son on the same baseball team. So Sunday after church, we all went to watch them play. This is the first game that all 3 of my sisters got to go to together to watch the boys play. So I of course, had to bring my camera and take a picture of my sisters with their sons at the game. They were all SUPER excited about it... especially the boys! Did I mention that it was a million degrees that day?

And this is just a funny picture from this week that I wanted to add. We went to Daddy's for pizza one night and when we got there Daddy wasn't back yet with the pizza. So Erick and Chase decided to climb the tree and hide from Granddaddy. Daddy pulled up and Chase yelled Hey Granddaddy. He walked over to the van and looked in, then he looked around the yard and Chase yelled, Up here Granddaddy! Granddaddy sure was surprised to see Chase way up in a tree. Chase got a big kick out of pulling one over on Granddaddy. I love my Daddy, I love my boys, I love my life!

Sponge Bob Granny

I don't have any kind of real story to go with this but I couldn't let this picture just sit on my computer and not share it with everyone :) It is not everyday that you get to see a 60 something year old woman in a (size 5T) sponge bob costume and a forty something year old woman wearing a (size 3T) patrick costume so I just had to pass it on. Hope you enjoy!

My sister, Kathy bought these costumes for the boys at a yard sale. If you know my boys at all, then you know they are Always in character! At least 20 times a day, do I call Mason by name only to have him scold me with "I'm not Mason, I'm..." and then whoever he happens to be at the moment. So we thought they would love these costumes to add to their collection, but it took them a while before they would try them on. They didn't want anyone to laugh at them.?? So, Mom and Kathy put them on instead. Here are the pictures I took after they finally decided to try them on.

Camping out... redneck style :)

Last night at like 10:00, the boys and Erick went outside to put Bailey up for the night. They were out there for a long time so I walked out on the back deck to see what they were doing. Chase informed me that they were going to sleep outside. I said "Oh really, and where outside are you going to sleep?" To which he replied "In the back of the toynoda." (which is Chase slang for Erick's toyota truck) A few minutes later Erick came in and got pillows, exercise mats, and sleeping bags. They built a little tiny fire and Erick covered the bed of the truck with a tarp. That is one of the things I love about Erick. When the boys, at the very last minute, throw out the ridiculous idea of sleeping in the bed of the truck, he says "Why not?". I was inside working on some pictures I had taken so I took a break to go see their set-up and of course, take pictures... I kissed them goodnight and came back in to finish up on the computer. I was pretty excited to have the bed all to myself and read my new book without any interruptions!! But when I finished working, I had to go out one more time to check on all of my boys and when I did it was so sweet to hear them in the dark, under our "redneck tent", laughing and acting silly having SO much fun knowing that they were doing something new and fun (and weird). When Chase looked up and saw me, he said "Mommy, why don't you change your mind and camp out with us?". As much as I did not want to sleep outside in the bed of an old dirty truck and as much as I was looking forward to my book and a bed to myself, I just could not pass up a moment like that with my boys. I always try not to be the person that gets caught up in their life and says no all the time. All of the day to day stuff that we think is important just really isn't. And this just reminds me of that. No one would have thought "Hey sleeping outside in a truck won't be so bad, let's do it." But I am so glad I did. It was one night, it didn't kill me and it is a memory that my boys will always love. I have all the rest of my nights to sleep in my bed. What a weird but super fun Saturday night we had :)

Even Better Day

Monday was a great day, but I think Daddy topped it when he made Chase his very own race track for the gokart. Chase thinks he is big stuff with his own race track and when he is done racing everytime, he tells me that he just won the piston cup :)

I promise Chase did not drive with Tucker on top!

Here are some other cute pictures from the week.

The Best Day

Yesterday the boys had pretty much the best day two little boys could have. First we went to the Y with my mom to go swimming. We pretty much had the whole pool to ourselves and we all had so much fun. Chase went down the frog slide a hundred times and practiced swimming under water, he wanted me to stand in the pool and he would swim under my legs. Mason climbed the steps to the frog slide a hundred times but was only brave enough to go down it a couple of times. After that, we went to (where else) McDonalds for happy meals, then we got ice cream, then we went to the humane society to pick out a puppy. I mean really, what more could two boys ask for in a day??

It's like a mini water park that we had all to ourselves!

This is us meeting our puppy for the first time.

We saw the puppy on the website Saturday night, he was to be up for adoption on Sunday and we went to the shelter to see him on Monday. Mason has been so scared of animals that we knew we needed to get him a puppy to grow up with so he could get used to being around animals. So far, so good. We knew we wanted him when we saw him yesterday, but he had to get "fixed" before we brought him home, so we got to pick him up today. After many many names Chase thought of, the official puppy name is Bailey.

Here are the boys loving on their new puppy before heading to bed early. (Tomorrow Chase starts 4 year old preschool!)

Mom, I KNOW these pajamas will fit me!

After 15 minutes of arguing that these motorcycle pajamas would not fit Chase, I let him give it a try. Here are the results:

The weekend

We had another busy but fun weekend. Deena came in on Thursday night to visit. Friday, we had a girls' luncheon at Virginia's house. It was SOOO good to see Deena, we miss her SO much! We also had family from Illinois come in for a visit so we got together for dinner on Friday night. After dinner, Erick and I took the boys to concert in the park and met my dad there. It was the last concert in the park of the summer and so the square was packed! Daddy and Erick stayed at the fountain most of the night and watched the boys while I ran around and socialized... imagine that :) On Saturday I had breakfast with the family at Cracker Barrell, went to an auction with my sisters and Emily, came home and helped Erick organize the shop so he can make me a mini "studio", then went to Julie's for dinner and games! And Sunday, more hot sweaty working in the shop and then Daddy and I took the boys to see my nephews play baseball. It was pretty busy, VERY hot, but a great and fun weekend. Here are some pictures :)

Here we are at Concert in the Park

Here is Mason attempting his first ride on Chase's shoulders
I miss you Deena!

Chase and Mason really had fun watching their cousins play baseball!

Skylar's Last Day of Summer

My crew for the day!

Last year on Skylar's last day of summer, we got to have her little sister Jaylyn over to spend a few hours. This year, she got to come over all day! She is a hoot! Skylar looks just exactly like her mom, but Jaylyn sure does remind me of her mommy too. We had so much fun all day. My friend Jill was nice enough to let me and my whole gang come over and play on the slip and slide, a really cool slip and slide. I had 4 kiddos, Kim brought Drew, Jill had Harrison and the twin babies, and a neighbor kid came over! Later, I took all 4 kids to Sam's and then after that, Jill and I had dinner at Captain D's with my two boys, Harrison, and the twin 7 week old babies by ourselves. We are brave brave brave!

Mason wouldn't go down it by himself, he wanted mommy to go with him.

Look at me go :)

Dinosaur World

Yesterday Mom and I took the kids to Dinosaur World in Cave City. It was SO much fun! Mom has been wanting to take the boys since last summer and Skylar really wanted to go too, so we decided to go on and take them before Skylar starts back to school. I am so glad we went. The kids loved it, and it was way cooler than we thought it would be. Here are some pictures from our fun day, Enjoy!

And a movie theatre/cave!
