It snowed...

It snowed on my birthday!!!! And school was even cancelled, that would have been way cool if I was in like middle school or something. I can't remember it ever snowing on my birthday before, I'm sure it probably has, but this is the first that I remember. My birthday has been awesome, I woke up to a "birthday massage" from my 5 year old... He has the karate chop technique down to a science :) Then my boys and I just snuggled in my cosy bed and watched it snow out the window. My mom came over and hung out for a while. She took these pics of me and my boys in the snow on my birthday.

Then I got to hang out with my friends Kyla and Nicki for a little while. Kyla brought pizza, a cake, and cupcakes for the boys. Then we went out to the studio and took some pictures of Isaiah. He did such a GREAT job, probably the best cooperation I've ever gotten from a 3 year old before :)

Please be praying for little Isaiah, he has to have a very serious surgery on Monday. There is a link to his caringbridge page under Chase and Mason's friends on this page.

Here is the pretty cake that Kyla surprised me with today, it was SO good!

My nephew Joey came over and brought me a birthday present (great candles!) and played with the boys while I took Isaiah's pictures. I also got a visit from Kim and Drew. She brought me a birthday present and a YUMMY honeybun cake... I didn't take a picture of it, but maybe I will just take a picture of me from the back in a day or two and you'll get what it's about!
And then before Erick, the boys and I went out to eat, Larie called to say that she had made me a cake! It is amazing, as all of her cakes are!!!! I LOVE IT!!! She made it all about me, and it is so cool! (there is a link on my page to her cake website)

I had to show off all of the detail, you will probably have to click on the picture to see it all, but she added my camera, and even my camera bag in it's exact colors, my computer, new clothes, shoes, EVEN accessories :) I love it love it love it, Larie. Thank you so much!

Larie dropped the cake off at my mom's since we were going over there anyway and she lives right next to her. So after opening my presents from mom and admiring the cake, the boys (all 3) and I went to Applebee's. Afterwards we stopped by Kurt and Joey's apartment and played a little Rock Band... I totally should have gotten a picture (or video would have been even better.) I played the drums while Joey played the guitar and Erick was our lead vocalist... very entertaining! Chase and Mason wanted to play so bad, but settled for being our audience. Then we came home, I read my book by candlelight in a bubble bath, watched Chelsea Lately, and went to bed. GREAT day!

We Are Bored!

Well, I had made plans to go to lunch with friends today, but that was before I knew there was a massive ice storm coming our way. I am totally and completely afraid of driving in the snow/ice so we for sure opted to stay warm and safe at home today. I am definitly not a home-body and especially since I had it in my head that I was going out today, I AM BORED!!! We decided after our 3rd (mini) breakfast, that we would all make a map. So, here it is... our joint effort island map...

This part is Chase's "town". The red house on the left is our house, and that is our pool beside it.....we like our pools the size of our house... that's just how we roll:) Then the blue and black line in the middle is the bridge going across the ocean (yes, i think it's the first one) and on the right is town... Chase's town that is.

This is "Mason's town." The green is the grass, the blue is the water, and the red is the "HOT BOVEN WAVA" and if you couldn't understand that, it translates into Hot Boiling Lava. I'm not sure what the black is?? I think it is his house. Oh, never mind, I just brought him in here and asked him and he says it is the desert, so there ya go.

This is "Mommy's town." If I ever got to have my very own island, it would have to come with a mall and super Wal-mart like this one.

And I will leave ya'll with this... It is a lovely poem written by my very talented sister, Julie... It was inspired by today's unexpected icy weather.

THERE IS AN ICE STORM OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUT IT IS WARM IN MY HOME
SINCE I CAN NOT DRIVE
I MUST STAY HOME ALOME

WHY JUST ICE
WHY CANT IT SNOW?
I WANT TO FIND OUT
DOES CHRIS ALLEN KNOW?

ICE IS FINE
IN A GLASS,NOT A BUSH
BUT JUST STEP OUTSIDE
YOU'LL SLIP ON YOUR TUSH

YOU CAN NOT MAKE
A MAN MADE OF ICE
BUT A MAN MADE OF SNOW
NOW, THAT IS NICE

WITH NOTHING TO DO
AND NOWHERE, I'M GOIN'
JUST WANTED TO CHEER YOU
WITH MY LITTLE POEM

Hee Hee Hee, We write these little dumb spontaneous poems to each other a lot and she sent this to me this morning so I thought I would embarrass her and put it on the blog :)

"It's a Miracle!"

Chase and I were looking out the window at the snow this morning, and he said "It's a miracle, mom... that it finally snowed!" Around Christmas time all he would talk about was when it snowed, how he was going to play in it, build a snowman, have a snowball fight, ride the fourwheeler in it...... Then a week or two ago, he came up to me and out of nowhere said "I'm just giving up on it ever snowing." Needless to say, he was SO excited this morning when he found out that it had snowed. (Thanks Kim!)

Here he is catching snowflakes on his tongue.

My cutie Mason!

Not a good idea to climb up into the playhouse today :)

The slide was extra fun today, and extra fast!

My sweet little boys out in the snow!

Here is Chase having so much fun in his long awaited first snow of the season.

Boys Boys Boys

I can not believe that I have gone this long without posting! This dial-up internet is really getting old. Once I can finally get dsl, maybe I will blog every little story and every picture I take. Jamison and Carver came over to spend the day with on Tuesday and I took lots of pictures so I thought this would be a great time to blog :) They play so well together and it is so cool to watch them play and learn and just be little boys together.

This is Chase and Mason's cousin, Jamison. He is such a neat kid to be around, he is always so happy and sweet and full of life! He is a year younger than Chase... The order is Chase, a year later, Jamison, a year later, Mason, and a year later Carver!

This is Carver, he could pass as one of my kids with that white hair, and really does look very similar to Mason in a lot of ways. When Mason sees a baby picture of himself, he usually thinks it is Carver. He the youngest and Chase is the oldest, but Chase LOVES to hug on and play with Carver. You would think the oldest of 4 boys like this wouldn't pay much attention to the "baby" but he just can't get enough of him.

For a while, Jamison and Mason would fight and fight and fight like brothers. They loved each other but they just really pushed each other's buttons. That phase is pretty much gone and they all play great together. Now, there are only the occasional and typical spats between four boy cousins like themselves. This happens to be one caught on camera...
You see which kid is not wanting to share :)

Roller coaster time!

Here is Jamison, being a good big brother and giving Carver a little push :)

Carver recovered from whiplash, and loved the roller coaster!

Mason's Turn!

Mason loved the TURBO boost he got from Jamison!

Chase apparently thought he was too cool for the roller coaster so he added a backwards twist.

My boys love to play construction in the back yard... They usually have cones out there and caution tape and everything. This day, they just dug a hole and then covered it over with a "wooden bridge".

Here is Jamison after he mastered riding the scooter while ringing the bell.

Chase is full of tricks these days, here are the tricks he did on the scooter while riding down the little slope in our driveway. You can't tell, but he was going pretty fast!

This weather is awesome for February, but it is really making me look forward to summer! It is my last summer before I have to send Chase off to school! This makes me so sad, I don't even like to think about it! So, we are going to have so much fun every single day of the summer! Playdates, the park, swimming, fourwheeler riding, you name it! My house is going to be a disaster, laundry piled up, dishes in the sink, but we will be having the funnest (this needs to be a word, but i'm thinking its not??) summer ever!
